New program within the framework of Vietnam Music Week 2024
Introducing new project happening during Vietnam Music Week 2024: VIETNAM-UK LIVE MUSIC INCUBATOR 2024/2025 PROGRAM. The programme/event is supported by Connections Through Culture (CTC) - and arts grants programme run by the British Council in the UK and East Asia.
The Vietnam-UK Live Music Incubator 2024/2025 Program is a collaborative initiative between the Vietnam Music Industry Network (VMIN), Vietnam, the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF), UK, and the Ho Chi Minh City International Music Festival (HOZO), Vietnam.
This program, integrated with the Vietnam Music Week (VMW) conference aims to foster a sustainable and vibrant live music ecosystem in Vietnam by building the capacity of independent music event organizers.
Through comprehensive training, mentorship, and exchange opportunities, the program focuses on talent development, diversity and inclusion, environmental sustainability, and innovative event management practices.

John Rostron – Director of the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF)

Renowned for his work in fostering independent music communities, John Rostron is a global pioneer in music and creativity.

John has supported more than 200 independent festivals in the UK since November 2022 as a Director of the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF), where he has tackled issues like sector diversification, audience wellbeing, sustainability, and growing costs.

Co-founded the Cardiff Sŵn Festival, which was established in 2007 to honor up-and-coming musicians and was sold in 2018.

Former director of the Wales Music Foundation and co-founder of the Wales Music Awards.

To encourage independent music events and promoters in the UK, John founded and served as chairman of the Association of Independent Music Promoters (AIP).
